Healthy Community Partnership Grant: Addressing the Challenges Faced by Seniors in Manitoba

For many older adults in Manitoba, life can be a constant battle to make ends meet. In the face of such challenges, not-for-profit organizations in Manitoba have emerged as beacons of hope for many older adults. Both the Victoria Hospital Foundation and their partner Victoria Lifeline know the critically important role that not-for-profit organizations play in the day-to-day lives of older Manitobans. For this reason, both organizations teamed up to create the Healthy Community Partnership Grant. The grant aims to provide financial assistance to organizations serving primarily older adults.

As we grow older, the desire to age independently in the comfort of our own homes can become stronger and stronger. After all, nothing feels like home. However, it's important to recognize that staying at home as you age may not be the right choice for everyone. However, if you are able and willing to spend your retirement years in your own home, there are actions that you should take to ensure you live in a space that works and is healthy for you.
